Do you want to take action to make Calgary a more sustainable city? The Community Footprint Program supports community leaders with the networks, tools and resources to take positive environmental action in their neighbourhoods. The City of Calgary’s Ecological Footprint Team is meeting with Aldermen and Community Association Presidents to present an overview of this program and to facilitate a plan to set up two environmental action projects in each Ward by the end of 2009. If you would like to learn more about the program and get involved in the action projects, contact the Footprint team at This email address is being protected from spambots. Do you love cold weather and clearing snow?  Better yet, have you always wanted to drive a Zamboni?

We're the Millrise ice crew and we maintain the ice through the winter. The good news is that we have machines to do the heavy work and the work is extremely rewarding when we see kids active and skating. We're always looking for new volunteers. In October each year we begin our fall tune-up and we generally begin making ice in late November; please plan on coming down early in the year and get acquainted with the work.
