The Alberta government has commissioned a functional planning study to address the long term transportation needs for the south section of the Calgary Ring Road - Highway 22X from Deerfoot Trail to west of 85th Street SW.

Stakeholder communication is an important component of this study. Over the coming months, stakeholders, community associations and members of the public will have opportunities to view the alternatives being considered and provide input and comments. This information will be considered by the project team as they develop the recommended corridor plan.

The first open house will provide information about the study area and some of the options being considered. It is scheduled to take place:

  • Wednesday June 11, 2008
  • 4-8 pm
  • Southview Alliance Church,
  • 1436 James McKevitt Road SW

For more information, visit the project website at www.southcrr.ca.

Newsflash

Do you love cold weather and clearing snow?  Better yet, have you always wanted to drive a Zamboni?

We're the Millrise ice crew and we maintain the ice through the winter. The good news is that we have machines to do the heavy work and the work is extremely rewarding when we see kids active and skating. We're always looking for new volunteers. In October each year we begin our fall tune-up and we generally begin making ice in late November; please plan on coming down early in the year and get acquainted with the work.
